Chapter 27: Snuid

For the next few days, they had been wondering how to get into Azkaban. There would be dementors and even death eaters guarding that place. Again they decided to take Hagrid’s help in finding out more about Azkaban. He had after all been there, twice. But this time, they had decided not to tell him about their intentions, because then he would want to come with them. They were speaking to him about that place generally when he asked Harry suddenly about the birthday present Hagrid had given him. Harry had almost forgotten about it. He told Hagrid honestly that Harry didn’t know how to use it.

‘But anybody would know how to use a Snuid’ said Hagrid. There is a gel inside it. You have to eat it. And then you can penetrate anything. You can walk through walls, walk under water. But it only works for seven hours. After that you are visible and can’t penetrate a thing. And if you are inside a wall when the chant goes off, you are stuck there forever.’

And Harry knew how to get into Azkaban. They will be going through the pipelines and using the snuid, they’ll get inside in a way so that no one sees them. After that, they’ll have to find the horcrux and bring it as fast as possible.

But just a little bit of fluid won’t help. Harry knew that there were other dangers too. Ever since Voldemort had become powerful, Azkaban was full of dementors. Harry had fought many dementors before. He had even fought a group of demontors, but this time, it would be about a thousand dementors. And there will be other spells too. Not to forget Voldemort ‘s obstacles. He knew it would be difficult. So Harry, Ron and Hermione started practicing spells for Azkaban. Soon Ginny and Neville started asking questions as to what were they doing. It was becoming more and more difficult to hide their motive from their friends. But soon they were ready to go for their last horcrux hunt.

Christmas was coming. And Harry decided that they will do this on Christmas. It was an auspicious day and they will enter Azkaban on that very day.
